Summary

Overhang Elizabeth Magill

Elizabeth is celebrated for her painting style which begins by pouring paint across the canvas to create a flow of colour and shape. This is followed by techniques that include flicking and rubbing colour on to the canvas. Elizabeth does not consider herself to be a landscape painter, focussing more on the process of painting – the landscape only emerges as part of this process. This is taken from a series that draws on the Northern Irish landscape of her childhood, interpreted through the artist's memory and imagination.
