Tabbed information for art piece

Spills and Shines Darina Karpov

Darina’s work is characterised by meticulous technique and her treatment of subjects that seem to transform and dissolve. She takes the idea of material – its texture, decay and disintegration – as the basis of this work. She spreads crystalline structures deliberately across the surface of the piece, inviting us to look closer at their detail. The use of bold colour and striking contrast provide an intensity that enhances Darina’s careful technique and minute detail.

Darina Karpov

Darina studied fine art in Russia before moving to the US where she continued her studies at Yale and the Maryland Institute College of Art. She lives and works in Brooklyn and is represented by Pierogi Gallery.
