Louise Bourgeois

Louise was born in France but has spent most of her life in America. Her childhood experiences have influenced her work – especially her father’s infidelity and mother’s illness. She also draws on her mother’s feminism as themes of sexuality and gender identity permeate her work. Louise has had a long and prolific career creating deeply personal and daring work.
